Chad handles the evaluation and writes the plan. Bias joins when the work calls for a steady second dog, which is what makes resource guarding and dog-dog socialization safe to practice.
Chad has been a pet owner for fifteen years and works remotely in the software industry. He has cared for hospice dogs, managing their comfort in their final days, and for AKC competition Shih Tzus with detailed and rigorous grooming and care instructions, and he has helped retired police K9s ease into family life. He is an advisor able to discern when an animal needs reassurance and when the situation calls for an immediate escalation to the owner and their vet. He shows up rain or shine, and he’s trained in basic pet first aid and medication administration.
Some work needs a second dog, and a borrowed one won’t do. Bias is steady around food and doesn’t escalate when another dog postures at him, which makes him the right partner for resource guarding and dog-dog socialization. He works at whatever distance your dog can handle, and only after we’ve evaluated them.
James hazes puppies, and he takes the job seriously. A dog who has never met a cat will chase one, and that lesson lands better coming from a cat than from a person. Puppies who have met James grow up understanding that cats set boundaries. At sixteen he is available sparingly as he enjoys his retirement.
